Room 2451, located on the west end of building, use west-side elevators to access.
Please provide your lab, name, and room delivery information on all services or orders you place for delivery to LSI.
Services Provided
- Deliveries: All incoming orders from vendors are delivered each morning and afternoon. For large crated or orders on pallets, please contact the dock with an ETA and room number. We will assist you in uncrating and delivering large items.
- Mail (campus & U.S. mail): Outgoing mail is picked up at 11:15 a.m. daily in the mail/copier room, located at the end of each hallway. Green mail totes, labeled "Outgoing" and "Incoming" mail are on the counter. Incoming U.S. and campus mail is delivered at approximately 2:30 p.m. daily.
- Barcodes: To be used for outgoing US Mail, instead of stamps. Labs can request this service by providing a shortcode to Michelle. A sheet of stickers will be provided with a barcode and lab name, place these stickers below the return address, put in outgoing mail and postage will be calculated and billed to your account.
- Shipping companies: Please note: UPS is currently the prime vendor for campus shipping. FedEx and UPS accounts can be set up thru Michelle by providing your shortcode. To set up DHL, contact John McGill, 800-433-6345 ext. 1815. All supplies should be ordered directly by each lab. Please request pre-printed forms with your lab information and address for your convenience. On-line forms are also available for each shipper.
- Shipping drop off schedule & locations: FedEx box located at the dock next to mail bins and picked up daily at 3pm. UPS box located outside dock door and picked up daily at 5:15pm. DHL will pick up upon request by calling 800-225-5324 before 3pm daily or leaving at dock for next day pick up.
- Misc. Shipping: Campus mail envelopes provided upon request. Additional shipping supplies are available until you have ordered your supplies directly. Peanuts, boxes, bubble wrap, tape, and a weight scale are also available.
- Facilities: Manage all calls and work orders for general building requests. If you have any concerns or requests for your area, please email lsifacilities@umich.edu.
- Housekeeping: If you have any issues or questions regarding the cleaning of your area, please contact Michelle.
- Recycling: Please break down all boxes for recycling and leave in a designated area on your floor. We also recycle Styrofoam, packing peanuts, pipette tip boxes, glass and pallets. Paper recycle bins, should be located in your lab and/or computer areas. Pop can recycling bins are located at the end of each hall, in the interactive lounges. Additionally, at the dock we recycle batteries and print cartridges.
- Lab Supplies: Copy paper for copier room, water deliveries, lab paper towels and soap can be requested at any time. Water coolers with hot/cold water are located at the end of each hallway; deliveries are automatically done on Mon, Wed and Fridays.
- Liquid Nitrogen: Available in dock area upon request, please try to allow 24 hours notice.
- Laundry Services: Lab coats can be laundered by placing them in a large clear plastic bag, with a visible Laundry Form enclosed. Forms are located in the mail/copy rooms at the end of each hallway. Bags can be dropped off at the dock in the yellow Laundry Services bin, they will be picked up weekly on Thursday mornings and returned a week later on Thursday, and delivered to your lab.
- Shop Vac: A shop vac is provided on a first come first serve basis to clean filters, etc. Please contact the dock for availability.
- Moving: Flat carts, hand trucks, tank carts, tools and extreme coolers are available for loan.
- Dry Ice: Sometimes available free at the BioMed Store on the 2nd floor.
- Locker Rooms: Available in the men's and women's rooms on the second floor west dock side, complete with shower. Keys can be requested from Michelle or Virgil.
- Cold Rooms: Checked bi-weekly for proper operations. If you have any fluctuations in temperatures, please contact us.
- Film Processors: Checked and rollers cleaned weekly.
